At Thurleigh Road, High Tech Homes delivered a complete, ground-up smart home integration, bringing every major system in the property under a single unified control platform. The result is a home where lighting, shading, security, entertainment, and climate all work together seamlessly, controllable from anywhere in the world.
Lighting throughout the property was handled with a full Lutron system, giving the homeowners refined, scene-based control over every room alongside the reliability Lutron is known for. This was paired with Lutron's electric blinds and curtains, so shading moves in concert with lighting scenes — whether that's a "morning" preset that opens blinds and brings lighting up gradually, or an "evening" scene that closes everything down and dims the house for the night.
Security and access were addressed with a full CCTV installation covering the property, alongside a video entry system that lets residents see and speak to visitors at the door and grant access remotely — all viewable and controllable from anywhere via the same platform the rest of the home runs on.
For entertainment, the home was fitted with multi-room audio and video distribution, allowing music and video sources to be shared and controlled independently across different rooms and zones. This was extended into a dedicated basement cinema room, giving the property a true home cinema experience alongside its everyday multi-room capability.
Heating and air conditioning were also brought into the fold, integrated so climate control sits alongside lighting, shading, and entertainment rather than as a separate, disconnected system.
Every one of these systems — lighting, shading, CCTV, video entry, audio, video distribution, and climate — was unified onto a Control4 platform, giving the homeowners a single point of control for the entire property and genuine global access: the same interface that runs the house from the sofa also runs it from anywhere else in the world.
